Our Therapist Nawapat Chuatai joins Bangkok Counselling Service as Counsellor (Thai) part of our Thai Emotional Support Team. Nawapat is experienced working Trauma and will lead on working with Trauma using EMDR Therapy.
Nawapat was awarded a bachelor of arts in psychology from Silpakorn University he apprenticed at Tulakan Chaloem Phrakiat Hospital. He went on to Chulalongkorn University where he received a Master of Science in Mental Health, he apprenticed at psychiatric IPD ward, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.
Nawapat received a scholarship from the EMDR Association of Thailand to undertake EMDR Therapy Training. He did volunteer work at the Social Assistance Centre, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security providing EMDR Therapy sessions for staff who had experienced trauma or other problems that affected their working performance and emotional wellbeing.
Currently, Nawapat is completing a post graduate diploma in mental health, focusing on substance dependency and psychiatric disorders at the faculty of medicine, Chulalongkorn University.
Nawapat is interested in working with clients who have experienced trauma such as those with PTSD, those subjected to violence and or abuse as adults or in childhood, grief and loss, or experiences that cause fear or phobias. He also works well with clients who would like to regulate their mood and have or believe they have depression, anxiety, stress, or want support to manage emotions such as fear, anger, or frustration.
Nawapat uses guided imagery and stabilization techniques drawn from EMDR Therapy and used with clients to support their wellbeing. Nawapat also works with those with addiction and dependency related issues and supports client with drug and/or alcohol issues.
