Jaruwan Sakulku Thai  therapist Dr. Jaruwan, DPsych (Clin)

Our therapist Dr. Jaruwan Sakulku is a licensed clinical psychologist, registered under the division of medical registration, Ministry of Public Health Thailand and a member of the Thai Clinical Psychologist Association. She completed her undergraduate training in Clinical psychology at Kasetsart University in Thailand before moving to Australia to complete her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Tasmania.


Dr. Jaruwan has worked with clients from different settings including public health setting, community mental health services, educational setting, pain management unit, and traumatic brain injury research centre. From the beginning of her doctoral training, Jaruwan was drawn to the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). She is interested in applying CBT to supporting and empowering clients with emotional or medical problems. Apart from practicing psychology, she also teaches on postgraduate courses in applied psychology and counseling, as well as, conducting psychological research in achievement behaviour, cyber-bullying, and cognitive behaviour therapy. Her qualifications and training including: 


  • Bachelors of Sciences in Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from Kasetsart University
  • Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) from University of Tasmania
  • Certificate in Cognitive Behavior Therapy from CBT Institute, Australia


Dr. Jaruwan joins the Thai Emotional Support Service to meet the increasing need for counselling and psychotherapy in Thai. She has a background in community based and short term counselling as well as in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) skills that will be well utilized at Bangkok Counselling Service. She will work on our new EAP (Employee Assistance Program) service and with clients that self-refer to the Thai Emotional Support Service.
